Plank Check

Lewis Hamilton alleges that some F1 cars escaped scrutiny for illegal planks during the US Grand Prix. Despite a 50% failure rate, only four cars were tested, with Hamilton and Leclerc disqualified. Hamilton emphasized the need for a fairer system, given the recent sprint format adjustments.

Hamilton voiced frustration over the situation: “I just came out of the press conference, got back, and I was about to get in the ice tub and then Toto [Wolff] came running down and told me. Obviously [I was] devastated.”

He also highlighted the impact of the bumpy track: "It's just because it's so bumpy, and some cars have better ride quality than others."

The Mercedes driver denied pushing for performance with a low ride height, pointing out that the W14 performs better at higher heights now. Despite the setback, Hamilton remains optimistic about the team's continued performance.

Massa Not Moving On

🇧🇷 Felipe Massa, the Brazilian racing legend, has taken legal action against the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix outcome. He's determined to annul the result due to his claims of Renault's "Crashgate" scandal being known to FIA and Formula 1 beforehand.

Massa reflects on the injustice, saying, "Being defeated fraudulently is revolting." The scandal involved Nelson Piquet Jr. crashing deliberately to benefit Fernando Alonso, costing Massa the championship.

🗣️ "The only question I must ask... If the Singapore GP was manipulated, shouldn't it be annulled?" Massa questions. Toto Wolff is keeping a close eye on this case, as it could set a precedent for other races including the 2021 championship race at Abu Dhabi.

🏁 In his quest for justice, Massa reminds us that "the world of sport needs an answer and deserves reparation. For my part, I can say that I still live with a tremendous feeling of injustice." 🏎️🏆
