Williams F1 Needs a New Boss - Want the Job?

Williams F1 team is struggling to find a new team principal to replace Jost Capito, who left the team after two years. The team fell from being the ninth-fastest to the tenth-fastest, and is struggling to catch up to its rivals.

According to the former team principal, "The teams went into the cost cap on different levels. And we see Williams before the cost cap had hardly anything to invest for years. So they fell behind. Now to catch up with the same amount that everybody has, it’s not just about throwing money at it.”

The team's owner, Dorilton Capital, is looking to turn things around and invest in the team's infrastructure and people, but it will take time to catch up.

"What we are doing now, it’s like surgery on the open heart while the patient is running a marathon."

Haas F1: Rebranding for Victory

Haas F1 has officially rebranded as MoneyGram Haas F1 Team following the title partnership deal announced in October. The team, led by director Guenther Steiner, is "raring to go" for the 2023 season with a revised driver lineup featuring Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg.

The team will unveil a new car and livery in February ahead of pre-season testing, and will kick off the season at the Bahrain Grand Prix. MoneyGram CEO Alex Holmes said the partnership with Haas offers "incredible potential" for the financial solutions company.

F1 Rookie Pledges Teammate Harmony, But Probably Wants Their Demise

On an episode of the Australian Grand Prix Podcast: In the Fast Lane, Oscar Piastri, the new McLaren Formula 1 driver, has expressed confidence in his ability to work well with teammate Lando Norris and bring the team towards the front of the grid. Even though your first rival in F1 is your teammate.

Piastri, who is 21 and making his F1 debut, and Norris, who is 23 and entering his fifth season with McLaren, both have similar junior racing careers and are close in age. Piastri said he is excited to join the prestigious team and work towards a new chapter of success, as McLaren aims to regain its position at the front of the grid after finishing third in the constructors' standings in 2020, but dropping to fourth in 2021 and fifth in 2022.

"I’m looking forward to being able to show what I have, but also there’s undoubtedly going to be things to learn along the way, and I think Lando’s a very strong team mate to be able to learn from. I think it’ll be a good working relationship."
