Gene Haas Will Stay In NASCAR
Gene Haas isn’t leaving NASCAR. Despite the announced end of Stewart-Haas Racing, Haas revealed he will continue in the sport with the new Haas Factory Team starting in 2025.
“My commitment to motorsports hasn’t changed, just the scope of my involvement,” Haas stated. The team will feature a two-car Xfinity Series lineup and maintain a single Cup Series charter.
Operating out of the current Stewart-Haas facility in Kannapolis, NC, Joe Custer will stay on as president. The driver lineup remains a mystery, but Cole Custer, Joe’s son and defending Xfinity champ, could be a key player.
Haas emphasized the importance of staying in the Cup Series: “Maintaining my presence in Cup allows Haas Automation to compete at NASCAR’s highest level.”
