Andretti Global continues preparation for F1 entry with new UK headquarters

Good morning! The best salesman is one who doesn’t take no for an answer. Which would ultimately make Michael Andretti the best salesman on the planet. Only months ago, Andretti Global’s bid to enter F1 was denied. But that didn’t stop them from building a brand new HQ in Silverstone and announcing that they will soon be competing in F2 and F3 to establish a ladder-system for their forthcoming F1 team.

Michael Andretti once again cited “Our work continues at pace.” Which is starting to feel more and more like a threat…

Andretti’s American Dream

Andretti Global is gearing up to launch entries into the FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 series, with a bold ambition: funneling US talent straight to the apex of motorsport, Formula 1. They're setting up shop at a new facility in Silverstone Park, aiming to create a "hub for the European racing" that includes not just F1 but also Formula E and potentially a sportscar program.

Michael Andretti highlighted the focus on nurturing American drivers, although they're casting a wider net for talent. "It's going to give an American driver a fair chance," Andretti emphasized, adding that their setup aims to truly gauge a racer's skills beyond their financial backing.

The move comes with a caveat, as Andretti Global partner Dan Towriss mentioned, the F2 and F3 projects hinge on the green light for their F1 entry. Yet, the commitment to developing drivers is unwavering, with plans already to bring American drivers to Europe early in their careers to ensure they get "all the opportunities to make a claim for an F1 seat."

"We want to have a development series with F3 and F2 so that we're developing drivers," Towriss stated, painting a picture of a strategic pathway aimed at elevating American talent on the global stage.
