NASCAR’s New Deal

In a surprising twist, the FIA hit the brakes on the Wolff investigation drama. Allegations of Toto Wolff's potential conflict of interest with Susie Wolff sparked controversy, labeled by Susie as "intimidatory and misogynistic." Nine teams rallied in a rare display of unity, denying any complaints. 🤝

🚦 Under extreme pressure, the FIA concluded their investigation Thursday, confirming there was no conflict of interest. 🙅‍♂️ In a statement, they expressed confidence in F1's Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy, asserting that protective measures prevent unauthorized disclosures. 🛡️ "The FIA reaffirms its commitment to integrity and fairness." The wildly dramatic Wolff saga has come to an abrupt close. Now, what will F1 cook up next to keep us entertained until March? 🤔

Desert Test in December

In a two-day short-track package test at Phoenix, 🌵 NASCAR experimented with aerodynamics, tires, and more to enhance the upcoming season. Six drivers, including Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson, tested alternate splitters, a simplified diffuser, and new Goodyear tires aimed at promoting passing.

Blaney noted the massive impact of the new splitter, while Larson acknowledged subtle changes in handling. 🔧 Positive feedback led to a focus on aerodynamics, shelving plans to modify the gearbox. Muffler tweaks addressed heat concerns, but the ear-piercing roar remains. 👂

Dr. Eric Jacuzzi stressed the need for consensus on power changes stating “We’ve got to be smart about what we do there. There’s a lot of inertia behind the engines and producers of those engines. Really got to bring everybody along on that journey.” 🤝

Despite successful tests, no official 2024 adjustments have been confirmed.
